Another St.Patrick’s day and another religious holiday has passed

Wished they were dressing for

The traditional st.patrick the Christian

Not the st.patrick of today were the goal is partying and getting drunk

Even the legal ,make believe or true christian piety of saints lives

Would not sanction the party of sin during these holidays

drinking alcohol is not the sin

But the sin of getting drunk were all your facilities are compromised

More prone to act foolishly

To act recklessly

To act rashly

To act violently

To be a clown to laugh at

To be a violent with words and hands or both forcing others to flee or call the police

Ephesians 5:18 ESV

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

Galatians 5:21 ESV

Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Proverbs 20:1 ESV

Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise.

1 Peter 5:8 ESV

Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

1 Corinthians 6:10 ESV

Nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Proverbs 23:29-35 ESV

Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has strife? Who has complaining? Who has wounds without cause? Who has redness of eyes? Those who tarry long over wine; those who go to try mixed wine. Do not look at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup and goes down smoothly. In the end it bites like a serpent and stings like an adder. Your eyes will see strange things, and your heart utter perverse things. …

Isaiah 5:11 ESV /

Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may run after strong drink, who tarry late into the evening as wine inflames them!

Partying is not the sin

But When the party starts breaking Gods moral law: the 10 commandments that’s the problem:

1 Peter 4:2-5 New International Version (NIV)

2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you. 5 But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

and all believers are saints”…………..

“I arise today through God’s strength to pilot me;

God’s might to uphold me,

God’s wisdom to guide me,

God’s ear to hear me,

God’s word to speak for me,

God’s hand to guard me,

God’s way to lie before me,

God’s shield to protect me afar and anear, alone or in a multitude.”

St. Patrick

“We entreat thee, holy youth, to come and walk still among us.”

St. Patrick, The Confession of St. Patrick

“in a single day I have said as many as a hundred prayers, and in the night almost as many;”

St. Patrick, The Confession of St. Patrick

“For daily I expect to be murdered or betrayed or reduced to slavery if the occasion arises. But I fear nothing, because of the promises of Heaven; for I have cast myself into the hands of Almighty God, who reigns everywhere. As the prophet says: ‘Cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain you.”

St. Patrick, The Confessions of St. Patrick

St. Nicholas of Myra quotes (showing 1-1 of 1)

“The giver of every good and perfect gift has called upon us to mimic

His giving, by grace, through faith, and this is not of ourselves.”

St. Nicholas of Myra

“Children, I beseech you to correct your hearts and thoughts, so that you may be pleasing to God. Consider that although we may reckon ourselves to be righteous and frequently succeed in deceiving men, we can conceal nothing from God. Let us therefore strive to preserve the holiness of our souls and to guard the purity of our bodies with all fervor. Ye are the temple of God, says the divine Apostle Paul; If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy.”
