Meaning they are exact clones based on race, class, theological convictions on denomination, age, pastor or pastoral staff etc…
And why: because it is not a family likeness in Christ that is The foundation of their unity-their family bond-their family blood 🩸…that flows into all areas of their lives…that is understandable, expected and reality…
Romans 8:29 ….etc…
But a unity based on human likeness, human bias and prejudices, human wisdom That rather unites different peoples -encourages only those who are the same while purposely or unknowingly or unaware excluding others and encouraging/attracting those people who are the same as they..
Gee much like the Pharisees with this attitude, this self righteousness, this behavior, this belief -instead of Christ and His likeness -His Righteousness reflecting in our heart, mind and life:
Gee so much effort, talent, time, waste of life, brain cells and money on this:(and I say this based on 1: God’s Word 2. The same God created everything establishing its laws, functions and wonders…and 3. Who God is and Charecter
The world is acting like us christains when we get more holier more self righteous than thou taking God given gifts like imagination, creativity, the sciences and arts etc…that we christains can and should reflect and unbelievers do sometimes reflect since we All are created in His image…whenever those things that reflects God, worships, points to and praises Him knowingly and Unknowingly sanitizing, destroying, erasing, canceling and deleting these things and at best those things that can be redeemed we redeem and at worse we embrace and worship and build upon..
What’s happening around the country when civil disobedience answers the call and challenge of these present pandemic measures are still in place when they are no longer necessary and the church remains closed by the government will call US Christains to think upon this:
17 Jesus said to them, Pay to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s and to God the things that are God’s. And they stood marveling and greatly amazed at Him.
1 LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God’s appointment. [Prov. 8:15.] 2 Therefore he who resists and sets himself up against the authorities resists what God has appointed and arranged [in divine order]. And those who resist will bring down judgment upon themselves [receiving the penalty due them]. 3 For civil authorities are not a terror to [people of] good conduct, but to [those of] bad behavior. Would you have no dread of him who is in authority? Then do what is right and you will receive his approval and commendation. 4 For he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, [you should dread him and] be afraid, for he does not bear and wear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant to execute execute His wrath (punishment, vengeance) on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be subject, not only to avoid God’s wrath and escape punishment, but also as a matter of principle and for the sake of conscience. 6 For this same reason you pay taxes, for [the civil authorities] are official servants under God, devoting themselves to attending to this very service. 7 Render to all men their dues. [Pay] taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, and honor to whom honor is due.
As for me I hope my answer is guided by fear of God and not fear of man:
25 The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever leans on, trusts in, and puts his confidence in the Lord is safe and set on high.
12 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you but [reverently] to fear the Lord your God, [that is] to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your [mind and] heart and with your entire being, 13 To keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good?
28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell (Gehenna).
29 Then Peter and the apostles replied, We must obey God rather than men.
6 So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me? [Ps. 27:1; 118:6.]
How will we answer????
PS..later on in my reading came to this similar thought more elaborate because it originates in this pastor’s heart:
