You don’t say

I Was reading my Facebook page and came across this picture and I pondered what meant it and what I was seeing and reading. It was a picture of a wannabe Jesus with the caption Jesus goes back to washington. There is a a Dominican word (same as English) that I picked up from my wife,her family and friends conversations I had over the the years. The word is pique which means annoying,exasperating. That is exactly what this picture created in my heart and mind:

What it meant:

Jesus at one time was represented and ruled in the American government as if this was a Christian nation. It never was-though it may be influenced by Christian principles,God’s mercies and Christians who are the salt of the earth preserving,sustaining and nurturing culture and society only as far as they are faithful to God and His word.(see the history of o.t. Israel which God solely and specifically set up as a “Christian nation”,)

What I was seeing:

A wannabe  Jesus we like to make jesus in our sinful image rather than see the real Jesus in his word:(bbv Isa 53:1,golden calf

What I was reading: Jesus goes back to washington as if He had his throne their at one time

Theocratic rule only at his 2nd coming
The second Israel the real Christian nation not America,not modern day Israel but the church. Romans 11:

Gentiles Grafted In

11 So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather, through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous. 12 Now if their trespass means riches for the world, and if their failure means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full inclusion[b] mean!

13 Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry 14 in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous, and thus save some of them. 15 For if their rejection means the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance mean but life from the dead? 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, although a wild olive shoot, were grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing root[c] of the olive tree, 18 do not be arrogant toward the branches. If you are, remember it is not you who support the root, but the root that supports you. 19 Then you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do not become proud, but fear. 21 For if God did not spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. 22 Note then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness. Otherwise you too will be cut off. 23 And even they, if they do not continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God has the power to graft them in again. 24 For if you were cut from what is by nature a wild olive tree, and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, the natural branches, be grafted back into their own olive tree.

Matt Damon,his movie the Great Wall and our Christian life

The Great Wall should remind us that we too likewise build in our lives using our personal Great Wall with our finite human bricks which are

Morality

Pride

Self centered ness

reform

Ritual

Legalism

Religion

To keep at bay and not destroy the horde of sin

Destined to fail certainly

Because our enemy has dug right through it by the vey foundations of that wall our hearts,minds,souls wall our hearts,minds,souls have laid brick by brick

At certain points brittle and weak

According to our personal sinful preferences

the deceitfulness of sin’ (Heb. 3:13)

To fool ourselves or symbolic gestures to

Keep sin out

But like the matt Damon movie they snuck in

They found Achilles heel in this impregnable wall

Their Trojan horse in our great wall

our hearts,minds,souls have laid brick by brick

And not with the divine metal of God’s Word

Thus-

At certain points brittle and weak

According to our personal sinful preferences

the deceitfulness of sin’ (Heb. 3:13)

Honor your father and Mother.revised

Honor your father and mother in the context of love God first as our primary and sole compass of our hearts and minds not only as redeemed individuals but as redeemed families as Scriptures point out

Ecclesiastes 3:1-15 English Standard Version (ESV)

A Time for Everything

For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

a time to be born, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

a time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to break down, and a time to build up;

a time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

a time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

a time to tear, and a time to sew;

a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

a time to love, and a time to hate;

a time for war, and a time for peace.

The God-Given Task

What gain has the worker from his toil? 10 I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. 12 I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; 13 also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man.

14 I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before him. 15 That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.[a]

Psalm 119:105 English Standard Version (ESV)

Nun

105

Your word is a lamp to my feet

and a light to my path.

All else including worldly affairs like planets in perfect harmony sustained nurtured defined rotate around Him

In proper circular orbit

before the depths of eternity

Especially when we come from non christain homes

Regretfully at times It is so hard when the commandment honor your mother and father echoes in our ears and hearts yet with Eves sin twisting of God’s Word

Yet we must

Set example and not compromise or water down our gospel

Be the city on the hill

The salt of the earth

Not only in the world but in the midst of our families and friends..

Matthew 5:14-16 English Standard Version (ESV)

14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that[a] they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 5:

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet.

Yet tragically instead of being that salt

That light-pointers to Christ

Our non Christian friends and family

Become obstacles not only to us in our walk of faith but to them from knowing

God the source of all good and blessings

Christians and non Christians receive alone from Him on a daily basis 24-7…

Abbot and Costello – Who’s on First – YouTube

Gee are you serious..???

Moment came at a bible

Study my friend was giving the tiny mega mega church Sunday school teachers on what is theology …

They either had no clue

Or thought theology was better left for pastors and seminarians

Or thought theology had nothing to do with the common Christian

Or thought Jesus never taught theology

Or divided their thinking into two one for the church and the other for the world

Or in saquencho that included everything I mentioned and what their sinful minds and hearts can come up with

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=airT-m9LcoY

Who’s on first
Whats on second and i not know is third….
Theological version of the classic comedy skit
Unlike the classic skit meant to be funny and made up
This was real life both sad and tragic event at Love Gospel church which is located in the bronx…At a meeting of Sunday school teachers and church leaders with my friend leading the event witnessing
Shakespearen tragedy( as you picture me,my friend and the audience experiencing this in real time-a event of epic
biblical theological proportions straight from the twilight zone.

That is when(keeping the Abbott and Costello classic skit in mind As you picture me,my friend and the audience experiencing this in real time.)That Sunday school teacher raising her hand as she said seriously “we can not teach doctrine or theology but the love of God. My friend responded that is doctrine and theology and she retorted again we cannot teach doctrine or theology but who Jesus is. My friend answered again that too is doctrine and theology. At that she did not reply again either out of indifference,ignorance or she finally got the picture…

Pastors majoring over the minors and minoring over the majors

Gee,,,sometimes pastors to my sadness

Are more acquainted with the social movements and their “scriptures”and their “ prophets,apostles “than the very word of God….or quoting from them above more than Gods word…

Instead of the light of scriptures revealing and interpreting in their light they are not like the magi that interpreted the stars by God’s revelation to Christ:

Matthew 2:2

saying, “Where is he who has been born lking of the Jews? For we saw mhis star when it rose2 and have come to nworship him.”

Rather they let human wisdom and speculations interpret the scriptures

We should be like Christ judging believers work at the white throne

1 Corinthians 3:10-15 New International Version (NIV)

10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.

judging human wisdom and speculations by the light of scriptures and rejecting what scriptures blesses and rejecting what scriptures condemns…

Yes nowadays it’s not only pastors,but teachers and us:

Over-emphasize under-emphasizing

Majors over minors

Minors over majors

Remember every christain we put on our Pedestal have…

I love Tim Keller

I love his preaching

I love his heart for our city and cities of the world

I love his books

I love CS Lewis,Calvinism,reformed faith,John Macarther, etc

You too have put people,theologies ,events  etc unto pedestals

Sometimes they becomes our idols

Paper popes they wrote it said it it most be true

A garden of eden perfect to live in

Then boom Reality hits us

Our heros

Our shangrai la

Fail us

Many often say see Christianity is a sham

I will leave the faith

Many sadly do because they have placed their faith in a man or his creation

I speak as well from personal experience (yet not I but Christ has a firm grasp of me in His nail scares hands)

As their Christ…their savior
Not on the Real Christ

Both God and perfect man

Who alone will NEVER disappoint

 let us down

For Him their is no sin no imperfection

He never changes

He is the same,yesterday and tomorrow

And this must be the Lord and Savior

We all must hold

 unto…

And of course admire those people,church leaders christians

And natuarally our hearts will put them on pedestals

Yet let us pound into our hearts and minds

Daily

Perpetually

24-7

Every second

Every minute

Every day

Every month

Every year

The admonition

The implications

Of the apostles,

The prophets

Look at us

We are not God’s

We are men like you

With sinful hearts

With sinful minds

And of course FEET OF CLAY

The only ONE worthy to sit upon the thrones of our

Hearts

Minds

Lives

Is God and God alone

And all those we admire

Events

Places

Movements

We think and have become our xerox copies

Shadows of paradise lost

Can sit at thefoot of the steps leading to His heavenly eternal infinite throne…….
